Max Brawl Stars Guide: Best Build, Modes & Teammates

Max turns movement into pressure. She is strongest when your team can act on her speed boost together, so this guide focuses on creating safe rotations rather than simply running faster.

Quick Verdict

Pick Max if you like a fast support who can scout, rotate, and help the whole team collapse on one lane. She rewards active movement and quick decisions; players who prefer slow, stationary fights may find her harder to convert into value.

Story and Personality

Officially, Max is an energy-drink-fuelled speedster who rushes to help whenever trouble appears. Her superhero persona fits her kit: rapid shots, constant movement, and a Super that accelerates nearby allies.

Fan theory: Fans often read Max as the enthusiastic centre of Starr Park’s superhero group. That interpretation fits her presentation, but relationship details beyond official descriptions should be treated as community theory.

Best Build

For general play, equip Phase Shifter, Run N Gun, Damage, and Shield. This loadout supports Max’s constant movement, aggressive lane pressure, and ability to survive while creating a team opening. Replace Shield with Speed on brush-heavy maps; use Super Charged when a passive composition values longer team speed boosts more than Max’s personal reload pressure.

Gear 1 — Damage

Deal 15% extra damage while Max is below 50% Health.

Why it works: Max frequently takes chip damage while moving into useful angles. Damage helps her finish a pressured target and convert the opening before the enemy can recover.

Gear 2 — Shield

Gain 900 extra Health as a consumable shield. The shield regenerates in 10 seconds while at full Health.

Why it works: The extra protection makes Max’s first approach safer and gives her more room to dash through a dangerous shot or retreat after forcing enemy ammo.

Situational Gear alternatives: Use Speed when bushes control important routes. Gadget Cooldown is useful when repeated Phase Shifter plays decide the matchup, while Vision can help a coordinated team clear bush-heavy lanes.

Build Options: Gadgets, Star Powers & Hypercharge

Max’s alternatives change how she creates tempo for the team. Phase Shifter and Run N Gun remain the dependable general pairing, while the other choices reward planned, coordinated fights.

Gadget — Phase Shifter

Max dashes in the aimed direction and becomes immune to enemy damage during the dash. Cooldown: 18 seconds.

When to use it: This is the default choice. Use the immunity to cross a dangerous gap, dodge a high-impact projectile, survive while carrying the ball, or escape after forcing enemy ammo. Save it for a meaningful interaction because its current cooldown is long.

Gadget — Sneaky Sneakers

Max places a lightning-bolt return point. Reactivating the Gadget, or waiting 3 seconds, returns her to that point and restores damage taken since it was placed. Cooldown: 18 seconds.

When to use it: Choose it for a planned dive, objective touch, or scouting run when you can protect the return point. It is risky against enemies who can camp that position or interrupt Max before she creates value.

Star Power — Run N Gun

Max reloads faster while moving.

When to use it: This is the general choice for active maps and Brawl Ball. Max should already be moving to dodge and create angles, so the faster reload directly improves her pressure and Super cycling.

Star Power — Super Charged

Hitting an enemy with Max’s main attack extends the duration of her Super.

When to use it: Pick it in coordinated or more passive compositions that depend on a longer speed window. It is strongest when several teammates can keep attacking and repositioning during the same Super.

Hypercharge — Unlimited Energy

Max throws an energy drink to each teammate, increasing movement speed and granting 25% Super charge.

When to use it: Activate it with teammates in range before a coordinated engage, decisive defense, or objective push. Its team-wide Super charge is wasted when allies are eliminated, too far away, or unable to follow the speed boost.

Best Teammates

Gene benefits enormously from extra movement when lining up a pull, while Sandy uses Max’s speed to move the team into or through a sandstorm before opponents can reset.

Counters and Common Mistakes

Long-range marksmen can keep Max outside useful pressure range, while reliable slows and knockbacks punish her entry. Do not activate Super before your team has ammo, chase alone beyond healing range, or fire every ammo slot without preserving one shot to finish or defend.
