VALORANT Patch 13.08: Map Rating, Corrode Rework & Act 6

VALORANT Patch 13.08 launches Act 6 with a new way to measure map-by-map performance and substantial changes to Corrode. Riot’s tactical shooter also refreshes the competitive map pool, updates the Career and queue interfaces, and addresses several audio, weapon, and competitive issues across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Key Takeaways

  • Map Rating arrives: Competitive and Premier players receive a private 0–500 rating and C-to-S grade for each map.
  • Corrode gets a major rework: Faster defender rotations, revised Mid cover, and a tighter A Site plant zone reshape retakes and post-plants.
  • The active pool changes: Bind and Corrode enter Competitive and Deathmatch, while Ascent and Split rotate out.
  • Act 6 improves navigation: Riot adds a redesigned Queue and Mode Select screen plus easier Career access to Rank Legacy, Accolades, and Map Rating.

VALORANT Patch 13.08 Launches Act 6

Released on October 13, 2026, Patch 13.08 begins V26 Act 6. The update focuses less on Agent balance and more on competitive progression, map flow, clearer client navigation, and stability fixes.

Killjoy also receives a small feedback improvement: when a moving doorway destroys Alarmbot, the proper visual effect and audio now play so the interaction is easier to understand.

Map Rating Tracks Your Performance on Every Map

Map Rating gives each player a private rating from 0 to 500 and a letter grade from C to S for every map. It is available in Competitive and Premier, and everyone starts fresh because historical matches do not count toward the launch rating.

The system evaluates Overall Win Rate, Attacker Win Rate, Defender Win Rate, and Performance Score. Recent games carry more weight than older results, so improving your current play can steadily move the rating upward. Riot surfaces the information in Agent Select, the end-of-game screen, and Career, but other players cannot see your personal rating.

Performance Score also places more emphasis on damage, adjusted kills, and adjusted deaths, including first kills and first deaths. Chamber receives role-specific adjustments intended to value his utility more accurately.

Corrode Rework Speeds Up Retakes

Corrode’s defender routes into the backs of A Site and B Site have been shortened to make rotations and retakes faster. Riot’s goal is to reduce the amount of time defenders spend travelling before they can rejoin a fight.

Mid is also more structured. The Lower Mid half wall is now metal and has been moved outward, reducing wall spam while giving attackers more room to work toward A Link. Nearby boxes have shifted toward B with a new jump-up, and an adjacent wall has been raised to prevent an unintended peek from the relocated cover.

On A Site, the plant zone has been adjusted so attackers cannot rely as heavily on long post-plant pressure from A Link. Teams will need to reconsider both their default plant location and the utility saved for the retake.

Bind and Corrode Enter the Map Pool

Bind and Corrode are now part of the Competitive and Deathmatch queues. Ascent and Split rotate out of both queues, so ranked teams should shift practice time toward the returning maps and the updated Corrode layouts.

Vanguard Transparency and Client Improvements

Riot shared Act 5 enforcement figures to provide more transparency around Vanguard and player-behaviour penalties. During the August 18–October 1 detection period, the company reported bans covering cheating, botting, rank manipulation, toxicity, repeated AFK or gameplay abuse, and third-party streamsniping or instalocking tools.

The client now has a redesigned Queue and Mode Select interface for matchmade and custom modes. Career also gains a navigation bar that makes Rank Legacy, Accolades, and Map Rating easier to reach.

Bug Fixes and Known Issues

Patch 13.08 corrects the displayed threshold for the Masterful accolade and fixes several sound problems involving footsteps, body falls, and dropped weapons in Fog of War. The Warden’s scope reticle should also remain aligned during full-auto fire.

Riot lists two known issues. Team MVP may display incorrectly in Match History, and Range in Queue was disabled while the team tests a fix for a bugged queue state linked to the Practice Range.

Pro Tip

Use the start of Act 6 to build clean Map Rating data rather than chasing the grade directly. Track attack and defence results separately, then review the maps where one side falls behind. On Corrode, revisit every rotation and A Site plant setup in a custom lobby before bringing old habits into Competitive.
