VALORANT Patch 13.06: Warden, Agent Mastery & Gauntlet

VALORANT Patch 13.06 reshapes Riot’s tactical shooter on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S with one of its biggest updates in years. A new scoped rifle challenges the established buy-round meta, while Agent Mastery, a chaotic 2v2 mode, rebuilt menus, and major competitive tracking systems change what players do before, during, and after every match.

Key Takeaways

  • The Warden joins the rifle lineup: The 2,900-Credit automatic rifle carries 18 rounds, a 2x scope, and deals 50 body damage at every range.
  • Agent Mastery begins from zero: Every Agent now has seasonal Act Levels, permanent Lifetime Levels, reward tracks, portrait upgrades, and an Agent ID.
  • Gauntlet: Glitched debuts: Eight duos compete through 2v2 rounds while drafting, upgrading, and occasionally glitching abilities from different Agents.
  • Competitive progress is easier to read: Performance Score replaces ACS, while Accolades, Rank Legacy, a redesigned Career hub, and Range access during queues provide more feedback.

VALORANT Patch 13.06 Overview

Riot released Patch 13.06 on September 22, 2026. It follows the smaller VALORANT Patch 13.05 update → with a broad overhaul spanning the client, progression, competitive performance, weapons, modes, player behavior, and the end-of-game flow.

The Home and Lobby screens now form one hub where players can see events, missions, the active map pool, leaderboards, limited-time features, and their current party. Riot has also simplified global navigation and added Collection indicators for newly earned items.

The Warden Brings a New Long-Range Rifle Choice

The Warden enters the same 2,900-Credit tier as the Vandal and Phantom but occupies a different tactical niche. Its 2x scope and consistent damage favor controlled long-range engagements, while the 18-round magazine and slower 6.5 fire rate punish careless spraying.

  • Damage: 200 to the head, 50 to the body, and 42 to the legs at every range.
  • Magazine and reserve: 18 rounds loaded with 36 in reserve.
  • Optics: A 2x scope supports precise long-distance fights.
  • Wall penetration: Medium penetration creates familiar rifle utility through common surfaces.

Because three body shots are enough to eliminate a fully armored target, the Warden rewards first-shot discipline. However, its limited magazine leaves less room to correct a missed burst or transfer between several opponents.

Gauntlet: Glitched Turns VALORANT into a 2v2 Ability Draft

Gauntlet: Glitched places sixteen players into eight duos and sends each team through short 2v2 matchups. Losing a round costs team health, later stages raise the damage of each loss, and eliminated duos can immediately leave and queue again.

Between rounds, players draft randomized abilities from different Agents, add new tools to their loadout, or upgrade an existing ability from Level 1 to Level 3. Rare glitches can transform familiar powers in surprising ways, including a controllable Raze Boom Bot explosion or an oversized Wingman. Four compact arenas remix recognizable map spaces, and players can enter alone or with a friend.

Agent Mastery Tracks Every Agent Separately

Agent Mastery introduces Act Levels and Lifetime Levels for the entire roster. Everyone begins at zero, including long-time players, and earns Mastery Points by using an Agent in supported modes. Wins and strong performances grant additional progress.

Each Agent has ten core Act Levels that reset with a new Act. Levels 4, 7, and 10 unlock Portrait Accents, while overleveling remains available after Level 10. Lifetime Levels never reset and open access to Agent-specific reward tracks, where Kingdom Credits unlock both previous Agent Gear and new rewards. Any Agent Gear already owned remains in the collection.

Performance Score Replaces ACS

Average Combat Score is replaced by a new Performance Score ranging from 0 to 500. Riot says the system looks beyond kills and raw damage to represent a player’s overall contribution. It determines MVP and scoreboard placement in Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay, and Premier.

Accolades record standout performances and personal bests from this patch onward, while Rank Legacy counts the ranks reached across a competitive career. A refreshed Career page and Competitive Hub bring rank, match history, top Agents, Accolades, and lifetime milestones into a more coherent interface.

Warm Up in the Range While Queueing

Players can now enter the Practice Range after matchmaking begins or start a queue from inside the Range. The option may not appear when the expected wait is very short, and modes without Agent Select—including Premier and Deathmatch—do not support Range queueing.

The end-of-game presentation has also been rebuilt to show performance, rewards, rank changes, Agent Mastery, Accolades, and Performance Score in one sequence. Players can let the presentation advance automatically, inspect more detail, requeue, or return to the lobby.

Anti-Boosting, Voice Evaluation, and Console Updates

Riot reports that its newer boosting detection has banned more than 90,000 accounts since July 20, averaging roughly 1,600 accounts per day. Riot Voice Evaluation now supports improved detection for Spanish, Portuguese, and Korean voice communications.

Patch 13.06 also expands VALORANT’s console availability to Australia and New Zealand. Bug fixes address interrupted Ultimate voiceovers, flashes interacting with possessable abilities, Cypher Trapwire visuals, a misleading Masterful Accolade threshold, and an old Flex jiggle-peek issue.

Pro Tip

Treat the Warden as a precision rifle rather than a Vandal with a different model. Use the 2x scope to hold long lanes, fire short controlled bursts, and disengage before the 18-round magazine forces a risky reload. In Gauntlet: Glitched, scout opposing drafts before spending rerolls so your build answers the abilities that are actually developing in the lobby.
