The Story

Years after the death of your father — a famous and well-respected truck driver — you decide to get your life back on track by stepping into his shoes. Taking on jobs, building relationships with your family and the local community, and navigating the open road, you’ll discover that the road to the American Dream is neither straight nor easy. The game follows Nathan, and his journey is as much about the people he meets as the miles he logs.

Core Gameplay Features

1. Narrative-Driven Trucking

  • Story missions that advance Nathan’s personal arc alongside trucking jobs
  • Build relationships with family and the local community through each delivery
  • More than 150 missions including the 10 new Freedom to Roam missions exclusive to the PC release
  • Freedom to Roam mode adds an additional drivable truck on PC

2. PC-Exclusive Technical Features

  • Powered by Unreal Engine 5 with ray-tracing, dynamic weather, and seamless day-night cycles
  • Advanced graphics settings with DLSS 4 and FSR 4 support
  • Full steering wheel compatibility: Logitech G29, G920, G923, and Thrustmaster models
  • HDR support on compatible displays and an updated world map with improved image quality

3. Truck Customization & New Survival System

  • Customize your rig with a wide range of parts and paint jobs
  • Unlock new trucks as you progress through Nathan’s career
  • New Hunger System on PC requires managing Nathan’s nutrition during long hauls
  • Vista System content adds scenic stops along the route

Who Is This For?

Truck Driver: The American Dream is aimed squarely at players who want more than just logistics. If you’ve bounced off Euro Truck Simulator because there’s no story to follow or characters to care about, this one fills that gap. The UE5 visuals and steering wheel support also make it a strong pick for sim players looking for a cinematic, immersive driving experience on PC.

Pro Tip

If you own a supported steering wheel, enable it before starting your first session — the game is tuned around it, and the force feedback makes navigating highway on-ramps noticeably more satisfying than playing with a controller or keyboard.
