Hole Is Mine asks a simple question: what if the numbers going up were also going down, straight into a divine pit that talks back? You play a drill-wielding creature answering the call of the abyss, launching tiny helpers called Mini’Ohs into the rock to mine on your behalf while you dig deeper for secrets. It is an incremental adventure heading to Steam this week, and the free prologue has already built a following.

The Concept
A massive Hole has opened, and it is not exactly clean. Your job is to purify it — which in practice means drilling down with Shelly, cracking open rock, and extracting the impurities buried in it. Trapped in that rock are the Mini’Ohs, small villagers you rescue as you dig. Once freed, they get to work automatically, mining alongside you and turning every descent into a slightly larger operation than the last.
Everything you bring back to the surface feeds the Village. Rebuild it, grow the community, upgrade your own drilling power, and head back down with a bigger crew and better gear. The stated goal is lifting the curse of the abyss, but the actual hook is the classic incremental pull: go down, come back richer, immediately want to go down again.
Core Gameplay Features
1. Drill, Rescue, Repeat
The core loop is hands-on rather than fully idle — you are steering the drill, not just watching a counter tick.
- Around 40 Depths to descend through, each with its own dangers and secrets
- Free Mini’Ohs trapped between blocks and put them to work mining
- Haul impurities and resources back up to fund the next run
2. Deep Customization
This is where the game expects you to lose your evenings. Your Mini’Ohs are the build.
- Over 500 different equipment combinations across your crew
- More than 300 upgrades to discover
- Experiment with loadouts to find combinations that break the curve
3. Rebuilding the Village
Progression is not just a stat sheet — the surface changes as you succeed underground.
- Restore the Village and grow its community over time
- Uncover hidden secrets tucked into the Depths
- Roughly 5 hours of gameplay to see the story through
Who Is This For?
Fans of incremental and idler games are the obvious audience, especially anyone who played Incrementalist’s previous title Astro Prospector — the three-person Spanish studio built a solid reputation with that one, and Hole Is Mine is clearly cut from the same cloth. If you like games where the satisfaction comes from watching a small operation snowball into an absurd one, this is your lane. It is single-player, launching on Steam with Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and full English voice support among 13 languages.
Pro Tip
Play the free Hole Is Mine Prologue first — it is available on Steam right now and gives you a real feel for the drilling and Mini’Oh management before you commit. When the full game arrives, resist the urge to dump everything into raw drill power early; equipping your Mini’Ohs pays off faster, because they keep mining while you are busy elsewhere. Test combinations rather than settling on the first one that works.
