Denshattack! hands you an anti-gravity train and tells you to treat it like a skateboard. You flip it, grind it, drift it and launch it off rooftops through a colourful Japanese dystopia, chaining combos while rival gangs try to run you off the rails. It’s an arcade action game on Steam and consoles that takes the least extreme vehicle imaginable and makes it the star of an extreme sports title.

The Story
Denshattack! is set in a near-future Japan wrecked by climate disaster. The wealthy live sealed inside air-purified domes, connected by a vacuum-tube network run by the megacorp Miraido. Everyone else is left outside in the decaying sprawl. But the old railways the corporation abandoned never really went quiet — gangs rebuilt them, and out of that grew an underground culture that fuses racing, tricks, and pure showing off. That’s Denshattack, and you’re the newest rider trying to make a name on the forgotten tracks.
Core Gameplay Features
1. A Train That Moves Like a Skateboard
This is the hook, and the game commits to it completely:
- Jump, barrel roll, drift and wall-ride your anti-gravity train
- Leave the rails entirely — ride across boats, ferris wheels, and rooftops
- Chain tricks into combos for score multipliers
2. Over 50 Levels Across Japan
The campaign spans the country, and each stage plays with the formula:
- 50+ levels scattered across distinct Japanese locations
- A dedicated stunt practice area for experimenting freely
- Objectives that keep reframing what a train is capable of
3. Rivals With Real Personality
The opposition isn’t just lap times:
- Face off against distinct rival riders and gangs
- Earn respect and turn former opponents into allies
- Take on Miraido, the corporation squeezing the tracks
Who Is This For?
If you grew up on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater or Jet Set Radio and have been waiting for something to scratch that specific itch, Denshattack! is aimed squarely at you. It’s easy to pick up — the controls are simple enough that you’ll be pulling tricks in minutes — but the gap between competent and genuinely good is enormous, which is exactly what combo-chasers want. Traditional Chinese language support is included, and a free demo covering the first four levels plus the practice area is available if you want to try before committing.
Pro Tip
Spend real time in the stunt practice area before grinding the campaign for scores. There’s no timer and no rivals there, which makes it the only place you can safely work out which trick chains actually link together. Players who learn their combo vocabulary first climb the leaderboards far faster than those who try to figure it out mid-race.
